Another Rock the Park under our belt. It feels good, but, man, even when you think you’re amply prepared for an event, just remember: you’re probably not, so don’t freak out. That means when one camera informs you mid-recording that you’re out of storage space, then your other camera mysteriously and suddenly is drained of all power, just remember: Don’t. Freak. Out. And that migraine and nausea coming on? You shouldn’t freak out about that either. Those that know me are probably laughing by now because, let me tell you, I am a Planner - with a capital P. And I freak out. Let’s just chalk it up to Thursday being an off day. The saving grace for me, however, is that covering Rock the Park is a pretty cush assignment, and everyone involved has always been a dream to work with - the artists especially. So, we continue to live and learn; and without further ado, please continue after the jump to enjoy a little bit of video, a little bit of photo, and a lotta bit of artist interviews!

Okay, so CoolTECH wasn’t that long ago, but on June 22, Muzimé had the absolute pleasure of attending and participating in CoolTECH down at the Tampa Convention Center. There we had the opportunity to meet and talk with other creators of new and cutting-edge technologies, and show exactly what Muzimé really has to offer through on-site demonstrations. If you follow the forthcoming the link, our founder and CEO, Joel Fenelon, gives a pretty great explanation for the Florida Technology Journal: Startup Profile: Muzime.
In the end, we are incredibly happy we were able to be a part of CoolTECH this year, we made some excellent contacts, and thoroughly enjoyed all of the demonstrations we were able to give. What’s your favorite new technology you’ve heard about recently?

It’s hard to decide exactly where to begin to write about Rock the Park this month. Starting with the “Rock” part of it might be a given, but I’ve never been one to go with the obvious choice. I’ve been to a few now, and I’m always blown away by the size of the crowd (I’m such a people watcher); a wide-angle lens really could have been useful. It wasn’t just the size of crowd this time, though. We had glowing hula hoops, fire swinging around on the end of a rope, and even a parrot in the crowd (you know, to break up the crowd of canines). For those of you that were able to make it, I bet it blew your BBQ plans from the day before out of the water. Good music, good venue, and good vibes: what more can you ask for?
Save the date for next month’s RtP: 8/2/12. Same time. Same place.
The Muzimé family will be there with bells on, and don’t forget about going to http://www.muzime.com/rockthepark and touch for a free download!

So, who has plans this Thursday? No one, right, because you’ll all be in a BBQ food coma. Yea, I know what’s up. Well, get ready to change your calendars, people. How does continuing the outdoor hang out sound? Or a night filled with great local live music? Because it’s about that time.
About that time for Rock the Park over at Curtis Hixon in downtown Tampa. Ahhh, perfect timing. Vacay day Wednesday, Rock the Park Thursday, and before you know it it’s Friday. It’s amazing that weeks like this aren’t against the rules, honestly.
So, here’s the pertinent info: Thursday, July 5, Curtis Hixon Park, 6:30 - 9:00 pm (it is a school night, after all, kiddies). Bands that’ll be there: Saskatchewan, Applebutter Express, and one of Muzimé’s very own featured artists, Zulu Wave (artist interview coming soon!).
Hope to see you there!

Morgan Soltes, Danny Marschner, and Joe Egan are The Mother Machine! With a sound reminiscent of The Beatles in “Strawberry Fields,” and Led Zeppelin in “Dazed and Confused,” mixed with a dark looming Pink Floyd feel, The Mother Machine creates its psychedelic doom pop genre. “We like to put on a lot of visual and auditory stimulation,” Morgan shared. “We like a constant stimulation of senses.” If trippy old time rock is what you like, this is the band to deliver your tunes.

JJ Paolino is a funky acoustic rocker who had to be stolen from in order to let others hear his songs. JJ laughed as he recalled the memory of his friends coming over his house and stealing his music off his computer. They made discs to start handing out during his senior year of high school. He continued to chuckle as he told me he’d never played outside of his basement before that. “They forced me to not be shy or timid.”
